Message Templates
Overview
WhatsApp Message Templates are provider-approved messages used for outbound communication such as Broadcasts, appointment Reminders, and Follow-ups. KiloBot stores the local template record and updates its lifecycle from Meta events. Create and approve templates before those features can send.
Create a template
Headers can contain supported text or media. The body may use positional or named variables with examples. Buttons and Footer must follow the options accepted by Meta.
- Open Message Templates.
- Choose New template.
- Enter the template name, language, category, and message body.
- Optionally enable Header, Buttons, or Footer sections — each shows Active when enabled and Inactive when disabled.
- Submit the template.
Understand status
A template moves through the following practical states:
- Submitting while KiloBot sends the request
- In review while Meta evaluates it
- Approved when it can be selected for sending
- Failed when submission or a terminal provider event is unsuccessful
A category update from Meta can change the saved category without changing an approved status. Only Approved templates are available in sending and Workflow selectors.
Preview and maintain
- Open a template to review the current local content, examples, category, language, and status.
- Use the available update flow when copy needs to change, and expect provider review where required.
Costs and policy
Meta bills WhatsApp template charges by category and destination. KiloBot may show estimated MYR rates — see Usage and billing.
